Use of the Intranet
Module in Windows Vista
Windows Vista introduces
new restrictions on the use of ActiveX components, but also offers a
great new enhancement that makes it more flexible than ever
– the ActiveX Installer Service, AxIs.
This allows standard users
to install and use ActiveX components from trusted locations without
an "administrator" account.
For more information on
using AxIs on Vista, visit the Microsoft TechNet sites below.

Service".

Implementing and Administering the ActiveX Installer Service
Alternative to the AxIs
method
The typical use for the E-Z Audit Intranet
module, as the name suggests, is via your intranet. Internet
Explorer "trusts" intranets at a higher level than sites on the
internet.
However, you may need to extend explicit
trust to your intranet anyway and if not using AxIs via Group Policy
you will need to take some manual steps:
-
In IE, click the Tools
button, select Internet Options
-
Click the Security tab,
then click the Local Intranet zone icon, then click Sites
-
Click Advanced then
enter the information for your intranet

your server.
