To evaluate or use E-Z Audit doesn't require that you install or push anything to any PC being audited, nor do you need to "deploy", install or run anything on your server.
Unlike some "Console" type of audit tools, audits are not triggered from your own PC, or any dedicated PC.
You don't need to make any changes to your firewall, don't have to open or reserve any ports , doesn't require enabling Remote Registry and we don't use SNMP. There's no SQL or any databases to license or use and there's no back-and-forth traffic from servers to clients or vice-versa because we don't need to – zero PowerShell, zero anything that requires cross-talk from client to server or vice versa.
No admin rights are needed to be passed or used nor any elevation of privileges of any sort for any client being audited.
Sounds like magic? Not really, but it's very well thought out and unique. And it's worked since 2001 from NT4 and Netware then to Server 2016 today.
Getting started with network audits using E-Z Audit is just three quick, easy steps.
It's just one simple entry: \\the-server-name\ezaudit\ezstart.exe -a
shellthis = "\\your_server_name\ezaudit\ezstart.exe"
As you know, Group Policy changes don't always take effect right away, so a gpupdate /force at the server can sometimes nudge things along.
