How to use the E-Z Audit On Demand add-on

You can download a free evaluation at www.ezaudit.net/addons/ondemand

Once installed, you launch it from the E-Z Audit Admin console via the Tools & Add-ons tab:

You do not need this add-on to do automatic audits of your PCs.  E-Z Audit 'core' product will do that for you. 

What this add-on provides is the ability to scan or re-scan machines any time you want. 

  • Ideal for tech desk use if you normally audit every 60 days, but someone needs a new audit right now to troubleshoot a PC.
     
  • Also ideal if you never want to run audits on a schedule, but only as needed.

How On Demand works - The Basics:

The On-Demand add-on must load to each PC which happens when the user logs onto the network. Nothing is installed to the PC itself.  Once logged on, that PC remains available for On-Demand auditing until logged off or shut down.

If you have followed all the steps to deploy On-Demand to your LAN as below as well as deployed the actual Scanner Modules for the core E-Z Audit product as per the Quick Start Guide , you are ready to get audits On Demand.

Again, remember that the On-Demand "listener" only is loaded after each PC has booted and logged into your network after you have deployed the modules to your server.

To use E-Z Audit On Demand exclusively

If you prefer to only scan using On-Demand and not use E-Z Audit's scheduled scanning, simply delete (or omit) the usual command line to launch the E-Z Audit scan from your logon script and instead only use the On Demand command line.
