Uninstall your existing version via the Windows Control
Panel like any other program.
Like most programs, folders that
were either created after installation, or folders were modified
after installation won't be automatically removed.
If you like to keep things tidy, then remove the following
Go to C:\Program
Files\EZAudit – or Program Files (x86)
if on a 64-bit version of Windows – and delete the folder
and subfolders.
Go to the following location based
on your version of Windows:
On XP/2003 - C:\Program Data\EZAudit\nn where the "nn"
is your old version number
On Vista/Windows 7/Server 2008 - C:\ProgramData\EZAudit\nn
where "nn" is your old version number
If you have any reports under the Reports subfolder there
that you want to keep, back them up to someplace else.
Delete the folder that is numeric, like "11" for Version 11,
and all the subfolders.
In the Admin console, click the Tools tile and select the
Configuration tool. Create a new configuration file and
save it to the share on your network where the old one is
located. The tool will copy the new modules to the share
(ezstart.exe, ezscan.exe and ondemand.exe).
Note: If you are using On-Demand now, you will need to stop any
running instances before you can do the above.
Open the Admin console and click the Tools tile, then open
On-Demand. There, click the link to stop running instances
of On-Demand
You can convert old format audits to Version 14 format via
the Menu > Edit > Convert audits option. Note the
following important points:
You should back-up the old format audits before conversion.
The converter will delete them as part of the process.
You should not have a mix of old and new audits.
Conversion is intended primarily so you can get access to data
until all your PCs are re-audited with the new version.
As such, once converted, consider moving them to a new
folder. You can access them from the Admin console by
selecting that folder.
