Network PC Audit - Information and Options

Choose the audit type that best fits your requirements

Basic Audit

This is the fastest audit, typically 10 seconds or less,  and it gets the information that most of you are likely to want or need most of the time:

Installed Software, last Windows update and update status , PC hardware information, shares to your PC and more importantly - shares out,  antivirus status, attached or mapped printers, important Event Log entries and much more.

Full Audit

E-Z Audit's full audit gets all the information the Basic Audit gets and also gets everything you want to find on the user's hard-drive - and you can define what 'everything' means.

By default ezaudit scans all .EXE files except the %WINDIR% folders.  For most users most of the time, that's enough.

But you can choose all folders even the Desktop or Downloads, Documents, etc.  These are places where downloaded junk (or worse) can reside.

And with all Full Audits you you can audit file types you want to know about in addition to . EXE, like OCX, VBS, DLL even VBS or PS.

Get all executable files, even non-installed .exe files copied to a PC (i.e. portable tools).

Need more?  Get driver files, non-program files like music, Office documents, images - it's up to you.

Choose how you want to run audits

Network Audits on a schedule

Audit your users on the schedule you set, for example Weekly, Monthly, etc.

They are audited on logging into your network only if the existing audit has exceeded the age based on your schedule.

You can set a delay so that audit doesn't interfere with the myriad things that happen when a PC starts up - especially with the blizzard of updates that start right away, from anti-virus to browsers and so on.

You can have it be 100% silent, or advise the user, with the option to cancel if you want to give them that option.

Additional options let you exclude some PCs from being audited, having your users answer questions of your choosing like "What's the Asset Tag number from the  sticker on your laptop".

Here's where to get started configuring your audits.

Advanced topics and how to set up in three easy steps can be found here.

Q : "What about servers?  They don't get logged into very often.  How do I audit servers?"

A:  Learn about auditing servers PDF

Network audits "On Demand"

On-Demand audits are a great tool for your tech support team to get a "right now" audit of any PC, or a way to get refreshed audits for servers that won't get rebooted often...and more.

NOTE: You do not need to launch this tool to perform scheduled audits.  It's a supplement to the usual, scheduled auditing ezaudit performs.

Audits users wherever they are using ezaudit Remote Audit

You can audit remote users not on your network with our Remote Audit Tool add-on.  Invaluable to audit home workers, on-the-road laptops, branches not on your WAN and more.

In 2015, we were subject to a Microsoft Software Audit.

As a small business, this was going to prove a challenge, as staff were located all over the UK.

After a lot of research, we selected E-Z Audit, which allowed us to audit remote staff laptops using their Remote Audit tool and provide Microsoft with all the information they needed and it satisfied their audit in full.

We could have paid an organisation to come in and perform this task for us, at great expense.

We are still using the software as an on-going audit tool to monitor staff PCS and ensure they remain compliant.

The software is easy to use and manage, with a very user friendly interface.
